As far back as I can remember, I have always had a special place in my heart for all animals. My heart goes out to those that have been abandoned, neglected and homeless. The dog you saw on the main page of my site is my Sydney. He came to me at 6 months of age. He was scared and fearful of everything. It was obvious that he had been abused and neglected. As the months passed and there was very little hope of finding Sydney a new family, it became clear that Sydney was going to be mine forever. Sydney has, for the most part, overcome his fear of life in general. He is happy, gives hugs and loves to play frisbee.
As a pet owner, I understand the special needs you and your pets may have when it comes to buying or selling a home. I assure you that you and your pets are my first concern. I hope you enjoy the "Pet Button". As always, if I may be of any assistance to you or your family, please do not hesitate to contact me.
JULY 2010 FEATURED PETS
QUINBY* - Chihuahua mix, about one year old, sweet but a bit shy, placement needs to be in a "female" only home with adults or older dog-friendly children as this little girl is terrified of men, cuddly, licky, happy and sweet natured, loves lap time and playing, kennel trained, other dog friendly, a special little girl that will blossom in the right, loving home. For more info please visit: http://kittyandk-9connection.org/Dogs.htm
URCHIN* - Chinese Crested, male, two and a half year old, gentle natured and sweet, good house manners, a bit lap possessive, has some separation anxiety (cries for awhile when left alone), was apparently injured in the past so is missing an ear canal and teeth on one side, needs skin care (as required by the breed), devoted and cuddly. Will be placed in an adult home or home with gentle, dog-friendly older children. Would be a delightful addition to the right person(s). MR HOO** I am an almost 1 yr old male tabby and white kitty who someone dumped in the middle of a road in Peters Creek in the middle of the night Fall of 2009. Lucky for me a bartender on her way home from work saw me and my siblings in the road, and traps were put out to catch us. I was named Mr Hoo cuz when I was in foster to get tamed, I would sit and turn my head like an owl while checking everything out. It has taken me over 6 months to become the loveable boy that I am. I am still easily frightened and like to hide under the bed. I will, however, sleep with you and let you pet my ears and rub my tummy. My bestest buddy is MAX, and I am his shadow. I curl up with him and hang around him as long as he’ll let me. I would love to go to a home with MAX cuz it would make me feel more comfortable in my new surroundings to have a familiar face. If you would love both of us, I am no charge if I go with MAX. For more info please visit: http://kittyandk-9connection.org/Cats.htm
MAX** I was an unwanted apartment kitty who got left behind when my prior family moved. A male, medium hair black tabby approx 1-½ yrs old, I am very sweet & cute. I love to be held, sit in your lap, have tummy rubs and will head-butt you for attention. I don’t like dogs a whole lot, I hiss and keep my distance from the foster dogs at my temporary home. Since I am so laid back and tolerant, I don’t think it would be difficult for me to get used to them. However, children and other cats are ok. I have a best buddy, a very shy kitty called Mr. Hoo that I would dearly love to come to my new home with me. There will be no charge for him if he comes with me. Since I have lived outside on my own for so long, I would love an indoor only home where I can get the attention I crave. For more info please visit: http://kittyandk-9connection.org/Cats.htm

MAY 2010 FEATURED PETS
TOTSI* - I am a rollie pollie, independent natured, eight year old (maybe) Chihuahua mix...but I look like a miniature blue heeler cattle dog. Initially I was rescued from Animal Control, had a huge tumor removed from between my chest and front leg. I was adopted by a mommy who took me on lots of walks and loved me, but sadly her health situation required she return me to rescue. I miss having my own home and life. I am not particularly cuddly, but will sit with you on the couch (when you lift me up there) and enjoy petting. I do okay with other dogs but really prefer to be an only dog (or share space with one other dog), great house manners, adores walks and meeting people, sleeps well on the bed, not intrusive, barky at times but on a whole not real barky, will follow you from room to room, relishes people food (but not allowed any), rides well, irritates cats at every opportunity, bossy sometimes (if allowed) and "dang cute". I need a good home and you need a good dog...what a match! I have lots of adventures yet to share...let’s get them started! For more info please visit: http://kittyandk-9connection.org/Dogs.htm
FONZ* - Heyyyy....Happy days are here again! Altho' I sport a tough-guy name...I am not a tuff-guy at all...I am a push-over for sure...sorta like "the Fonz". Need a little buddy who is huggable and squishy? I was taken to Animal Control because I did not do well in a daycare...I tried, but those kids needed a little bossing around...someone had to do the job. Some things about me: sweet natured, happy and friendly, rides well, kennel trained, have fairly good house manners, great personality, cuddly and snuggly, does well with other dogs (but prefer my people), quiet, loves sleeping on the bed, will spend hours on your lap, playful sometimes and camera shy...but tolerant. An adult home or home with older dog-friendly children would be good...maybe another companion buddy dog. I am delightful and friendly. We can share lots of happy days together. You will know you are loved and cherished...I only ask the same in return. I'm waiting patiently for my own home and someone I can be adore every day. Is that you? CALLI** - For some reason, I found myself raising my litter of kittens under Boyers’ Photos, an abandoned shop in Anchorage. A kind lady who passed by there often saw me, and made the effort to get to know us. When we felt safe enough around her, the kittens went into the cat carrier, and of course, being the good Mom that I am, I followed them in. I got taken to a nice warm home till my babies were weaned, then went into rescue to look for a new home just for me. I am approx 1-2 years old, a short hair torti with lots of white. I am sweet, but you better know how to read my signals when I’ve had enough attention. If you ignore me when I want lovin, I will grab you as you walk by. I love to play. Having to fend for myself, I am quite a mouser and birder. I would love to live indoors only where I can kill stuffed mice or feather toys (I’m really good at this, really!) I’m ok with the other cats and dogs in my foster home. I don’t believe I like smaller children though, but older kids would be ok.
